NMB48 Members: Choose Your Favorite!

October 9, 2010

AKB48, SKE48, and SDN48 have a new ’48 group’ joining them: NMB48.  It was all surreal and full of  uncertainty when it was announced, but it’s become all the more concrete with television coverage of NMB48 auditions and the announcements of names who made the cut.

The NMB48 site has put up a members page with everyone, so you know the drill; time to pick your potential favorites and memorizing their names and nicknames!  The image below provides the members with their info, with the members I have hopes for circled in red:

Cyborg Maeda Atsuko Interests Me.

September 30, 2010

When word was out that Maeda Atsuko was going to have a significant role in an upcoming drama called ‘Q10’, I didn’t bat an eye.  It was probably bound to happen, with her consistent popularity.

It wasn’t until I came across this picture that I started to pay attention:

Yes, that is Atsuko: as a robot.  And yes, I fall into the undying cliche of finding robots endlessly fascinating, especially those in the form of attractive females.  From what I’ve gathered, the drama is about a high school boy who encounters a strange girl who is revealed to be a cyborg.  Expect shenanigans, hilarious oddities and awkward situations to unfold as the boy inevitably starts falling for the extremely cute android.

Rumor has it there will be a kiss scene between the two and it will, of course, make me an unreasonably harsh critic on the male actor who plays the protagonist.  I’m totally better looking and better suited to play the protagonist, but you know, whatever.

Robot girl played by an idol from my favorite girl group got my attention.  It premieres October 16th; hope there’s a team out there planning to sub this!

Here’s a short CM below:

AKB48 Goes on an Uploading Spree.

September 30, 2010

I took a look at the official AKB48 Youtube channel today and was faced with nearly 20 new videos, uploaded just a few hours ago.  AKB used to do these short, little segments where they would act out a specific situation with the camera (the camera is usually the POV of a love interest), varying from tame(wishing a happy birthday) to blunt(requesting a kiss).  Whether you find them cute or strange, they were interesting projects and remind me now of the upcoming PSP game, which will probably be full of videos like these.

Here are a few that I picked out:

Miyazawa Sae and Ono Erena/”Congratulations”

Minegishi Minami and Sashihara Rino/”I like you”

You can see the rest at the official channel.

K-On! Hokago Live! is coming up soon.

September 18, 2010

Now that I’ve dedicated myself to picking up a PSP(a pink one at that), I’m running into PSP titles without even looking for them.

I’ve come across this trailer for a K-On! music/rhythm/button-pressing game coming out this September 30th in Japan.

the presentation looks really nice, and the game play looks more approachable compared to the madness that is DJ Max.  K-On!: Hokago Live! looks like a game I can play on the go without hours of practice.  Looks like I should start compiling a list of PSP games I’ll be picking up after AKB 1/48.

“AWWWWW” Time.

getting older is sometimes a good thing

September 6, 2010

in the show-biz where youth is romanticized, an idol who is in their late teens or twenties will inevitably be compared to her younger(and usually cuter) self.  but i would argue that the current akb girls never looked better; especially the original members from 2005-2007.

three examples:  watanabe mayu, itano tomomi, and shinoda mariko.

This song isnt going to be their A-side song. Still though the song is pretty fun so far from the preview. What do you think?
